New Covenant Christian Fellowship

Our Beginnings

In the Fall of 1999 Steve and Gwen Cowden, having a burden for teaching the Word of God to this generation, randomly asked two young men out for lunch. The fellowship in Jesus Christ was precious and by February of 2000 a bible study was under way in the Cowden home. Within a year the study had a regular attendance of 40-50 college students and young adults from across Greenville county. By the Summer of 2002 attendance swelled to 90-100. From 2000 to 2005 almost a thousand individuals passed through the bible study. God was certainly at work in revival!

As the committed members of the bible study group matured in Christ, they shared a growing vision to start a church focused on the core principles which they were learning from God’s Word and experiencing through the Holy Spirit in their lives. On January 9, 2005 a small group of believers met for the first time as a church of Jesus Christ in the Cowden home. As we partook of the Lord’s Supper that evening God bore witness to our gathering with a powerful presence of the Holy Spirit. New Covenant Christian Fellowship was inaugurated!

In August of 2005, NCCF moved to the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) building in Mauldin. In September of 2008, we moved to our current building on Poinsett Highway to better accommodate families and promote the Gospel across wider boundaries. God has continually blessed us with the presence of His Spirit and has gradually added to our number.
